FAQ

Questions:

How much do I have to order?

Poly Covers - Poly covers are extruded to your dimensions, thickness and quantities.  Prices on poly are directly proportional to the pounds extruded.  The minimum order is 1 pallet of covers (approx. 1500 lbs)  If you need to know your minimum, click the quote request, and we will respond with a minimum.
Woven CoversNonprinted covers can be any reasonable quantity.  Printed covers require a minimum of 1000 covers.
Lumberwrap - For plain lumber wrap, see our stock rolls section.  Printed wrap has a minimum of about 9 standard size rolls.

If you still have a question email or send a quote request!!

How much do printing plates cost?

Printing plates cost about $ 0.40 per square inch.  Each color and print has a different plate.  For example, a two color print on a poly cover with a print area of 12" x 36", printed on both sides, would be about  $ 700.00.  Alternatively, a one color print would be about  $ 350.00.

How do I fasten the material down?

Aaah!  The question with an easy solution.......or a tough one.

** Keep in mind that, in most cases, you need to keep the material from moving or flapping in the wind.  The tighter the package, the better chance you have of being successful.

For Woven:  If you can use staples, they work the best and are inexpensive.  If your customer complains about staples left in the product, use staple tabs.  The tabs are strong enough that the staple will stay in the tab when the cover is pulled off. (Email for samples)
If you can strap the unit after you have put on the cover, it will keep the cover on, especially if you can wrap the bottom edge around the bottom corner.   For covers, we can put a drawstring around the bottom of the  cover.  For additional insurance, one I-Joist manufacturer puts 1/4" strapping around the two ends of the unit.

For Poly:  Much of the above applies to poly, except that poly will not hold a staple.  Staple tabs work great, as does strapping if you can spend the time.  The "V" style and "Y" style bags are form fitted, and do not have ears or pockets to catch the wind.  In many cases, they can just be strapped on as indicated on the "V" page.
Poly has the ability to shrink.  Shrinking the poly cover to the unit and the pallet is awesome (look at the "Y" style and the "custom" cover pictures).  The shrink bags do not cost more, they just have to be extruded a certain way.  Those covers were shrunk with automated equipment, but you can do a pretty good job with a portable shrink gun.  Some have tried tape or adhesives in unique applications, but we haven't seen a unilateral success in this area.

If you have a unique packaging problem, call or email, we'll try to help out.

Who pays for the freight?

We can quote with freight collect, prepay and add, or just figure the freight is based on the order quantity.  Whatever you are used to or prefer.

What material should I use?

This is a tough answer without knowing your product. Here are some general guidelines.

If I need:

Small Quantities... Plain woven lumber covers or plain lumberwrap from stock.
Small Printed... Woven or poly averages about 1000 covers
Clean and Sharp Graphics... Any of the poly covers.
No Staples... Use covers and strap on the outside.
Covers on a Roll... "V" style, "Y" style, pallet or centerfold covers.

Individual Covers
... Custom poly, or woven covers.
Shrinkable... Any of the poly covers.
UVI protection... Our products have UVI to protect the plastics.
My Product is Sunlight Sensitive...  Use the white/black woven products, or the poly products in a coex white/black with UVI protection.
